Excursion of the vocational school for tourism and leisure (KTF) and tourism services management (TK) to Cologne

Last Tuesday, the tourism department of our vocational school went on an excursion to Cologne with the students of the first and second year of training.

The morning was dedicated to the question "How do I market a city?" and thus aimed at the future field of work of our tourism and leisure agents. Gregor Gosciniak, head of marketing at KölnTourismus GmbH, answered questions from our participants that they had worked out in class beforehand. A very lively discussion ensued, which impressively demonstrated the very international perspective of this professional field. "That was real practice," was the unanimous feedback from the group.

The afternoon belonged to the tourism services management clerks and their destination knowledge. On a tour along the Rhine, which had been prepared in advance, the first-year students presented the history and special features of the city of Cologne to the group and vividly conveyed how the special and colorful life in Cologne can be felt.

For the vocational school, Christoph Lacher and Ralf Teicher agree, there will certainly be a repeat of this "lesson in practice".
