Unity and the Right to Diversity" Workshop

One of the projects carried out with our new participants in the vocational preparation program (BvB) right at the start of their program was the workshop "Unity and the Right to Diversity".

Together with trainer Sandra Lempges, our new "BvB" looked at which countries in the world have democracy and which do not, what forms of democracy there are and why the Basic Law is so important. They also looked at elections, different political opinions on the Internet, and freedom of speech and freedom of the press. A brainstorming session on why people should vote at all rounded off this part of the workshop.

The second part of the project was about our own identity and the roles we each have. They asked themselves questions such as "What are the similarities and differences that make us who we are?", "Why do we pigeonhole people?" and "What is the concept of equal opportunity all about?"

The project serves to sensitize young people to the important topic of democracy. They learn that they themselves are an important part of democracy and that they can change things themselves in order to actively shape their future.
