One hundred percent success

At the European Vocational Training Centre everything is different this year: due to postponed exams, the farewell ceremony for graduates in 2020 will pass almost seamlessly into the admission phase of the new trainees; instead of a ceremony together with relatives and official guests, the examination and final certificates had to be handed over by post.

The Euro-BBW is particularly proud of its graduates this year. ALL trainees who took the final examination passed. And this despite the fact that they had to switch at short notice from face-to-face support to home learning in mid-March, cope with the stressful and uncertain situation caused by the Corona pandemic and also prepare for their exams. Nevertheless, they all made it and "we all take our hats off to this achievement", says Anita Sonndag, head of the Euro-BBW. "We plan to invite everyone again next year and celebrate together.

The next step for the newly recruited specialists is now the start of their working life, which will also be somewhat more difficult this year, as many companies have been on short-time work for months and the advertised positions are rare. Companies looking for well-trained, competent employees are welcome to contact the Euro-BBW's integration counselling service, which provides support in finding and training newcomers (info(at)euro-bbw.de).

At the end of July 2020, the new training year 2020/21 started in parallel at the Euro-BBW. In order to be able to comply with the applicable hygiene and distance regulations, new admissions this year will take place on several dates over a longer period of time. To date, 108 new participants have been accepted, and it is to be hoped that they will be just as successful in overcoming the hurdles between attendance phases and home learning phases.
