Focus on rehab teams

In the last weeks, the employees of the Euro-BBW had the opportunity to participate in the workshop "Focus on Rehab Teams: An Impulse". Our LUV and Support Planning working group had invited to this workshop in order to - as the name suggests - shed light on the core of our work, the rehab team.

Each participant is supported by a "rehab team" during the entire duration of the measures in the Euro-BBW, which is to keep the holistic support of this young person in view. The team is made up of the participant him/herself, his/her instructor, his/her respective class teacher, a member of the psychosocial support staff, and his/her residential group supervisor.  In the rehabilitation team, the entire support process is co-ordinated and coordinated, current developments, perspectives and plans are taken up and necessary adjustments are initiated. The focus is not on the disability, but on the person.

In the workshop, conditions for successful cooperation in the rehab team were jointly developed on the basis of group work and impulse presentations. For example, characteristics and values were collected that are important for the dialog with the participant and vice versa.  Role plays were used to critically examine rehab team meetings and suggest improvements so that the participant can benefit from them in the best possible way.

This entertaining workshop was not only enriching for experienced rehab team members; colleagues from other areas of the Euro-BBW also gained an insight into the valuable work of the rehab teams.
