We're out of here! Mortising and braiding on the meditation path

On Sunday, five gardening and landscaping trainees and three carpentry trainees with two supervising instructors landed on the Greek island of Crete. While the gardeners take part in a two-week official natural stone course run by the Chamber of Agriculture, the prospective carpenters will repair chairs, tables, etc. The apprentices are also trained in the use of natural stone.

A total of 33 trainees continues to work together on the meditation path at the Greek Orthodox Academy in Kolympari over the next 14 days. Among other things, a large staircase will be built at the chapel of St. Makarios, for which the individual steps will first have to be lifted out of the rock and cut. An exhausting task, even if the trainees are compensated a little for their work with bright sunshine and a view of the sea.
And the carpenters are also entrusted with a tricky task: they will loosen the wickerwork of 50 chairs and re-weave the seat cushion after gluing.
