The mill rattles... (no more)

Our prospective chefs have recently visited the mill Wagner in Sommerau.

The mill is existing since 1330 and is the last fully producing water mill in the region of Trier. In the meantime it has been converted to fully automatic double roller mills, which are driven by a continuous turbine.
For five generations, the mill has been owned by the Wagner family, who grind regionally grown grain in the tradition of craftsmanship. The products include a wide variety of flour mixtures, grist types, whole grains as well as mueslis and seeds. The largest part of the ground material goes to bakeries, but also in smaller shops and supermarkets one finds products of the mill Wagner. The Wagner family also runs an online shop.
Our cook apprentices were shown around by master miller Wolfgang Wagner and were allowed to visit the grinding plant, the grain store and the vibrating sieve. During the subsequent tasting, for example, roasted pumpkin seeds were available for tasting.
