Students of the Theobald Simon School visit Euro-BBW

Today, we were visited by students of the Theobald Simon School (Berufsfachschule I) in Bitburg in order to make a guided tour in our division “home economics”. The Euro-BBW is one out of three companies that the group will visit this year.

After a short introduction and presentation of the division by Gabriela Backes, head of the division Home Economics, the students were organized in three groups. While one group was taught by our trainer Doris Lenz how to make decorative pendants out of felting wool, the second group learned how to “iron” e.g. work trousers with a trouser topper. The third group was introduced into the operation of our flatwork ironer by trainer Ute Veigel and trainee Aminat and was surprised about the machine’s efficiency. Later on, the groups changed the workshops respectively.

It was the first visit of the “Berufsfachschule I” at the Euro-BBW – but surely not the last one. We would be very happy to welcome their students again soon.

Background: The „Berufsfachschule I“ is an interface between school and vocational training and it offers students an intensive vocational and school career guidance as well as a subject-specific vocational basic education. It is divided into the fields technology, business and administration, nutrition and domestic science/social services and health and care. With the „Berufsfachschule II“ the students have the possiblity to reach a qualified secondary education.
