It’s time for the next internships in Finland

It’s getting more and more “serious” for our 6 participants and 3 staff members. Next Thursday they will be leaving for Oulu in Finland where they will execute two-week internships at Luovi Vocational College and other companies within the framework of the programme Erasmus+.

This time, the group of trainees is composed of two IT specialists, two management assistants for retail services, one housekeeper and one media designer who are already excited and full of anticipation for their stay abroad.

Last Monday, Miika Peitso, Finland Institute in Berlin, visited us in order to prepare the group for the cultural differences in Finland and informed them about the country, culture and habits of their host country. Besides general information, practical tips for daily life in Finland and a geographical overview he made a Finland quiz and gave a short insight into the Finish language. But the group does not have to communicate in Finnish as nearly everybody speaks English in Finland. That is why the group takes part in a separate English course.

Some weeks ago, our employee Anne Unfried informed the group about the whole course of the trip (journey to destination, board and lodging, trips, internship companies, working hours, leisure time, and departure) and delivered bags with travel guides, pocket dictionaries and language guides Finnish etc. Furthermore she informed the trainees about Erasmus+ and about the budget.

Of course, the staff members will write a blog during their stay in Finland which is already available at: https://finnland2018.tumblr.com/

We wish you a safe journey and a great time in Finland!
