Between castles, lakes, mountains and three countries

Last week, 13 prospective tourism services management clerks and tourism and leisure agents and two supervisors set off for the beautiful Allgäu region to learn about target groups, sights and other attractions on site and to build up advisory and marketing skills. Starting in Kempten, they took a close look at several interesting destinations.

The first excursion took them to Füssen on Lake Forggen. There they visited the festival theatre before walking over the Lechfall and a treetop path to the Ziegelwies forest adventure centre near the Austrian border. The tour group did not have time to rest, as a guided tour of Neuschwanstein Castle followed by a descent of the mountain was also on the agenda.

If you are already in the Allgäu, you should also make a detour to Lake Constance. The next day, with temperatures of 28 degrees Celsius, our trainees and colleagues explored the old town and harbour of Lindau and took a three-country panoramic trip along the shores of Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The last excursion took the group to Oberstdorf, where they first visited the Audi Arena at the foot of the Schattenberg and then took an inclined lift to the famous ski jump tower. This day was again characterised by impressive views, as they were able to take a panoramic lift a little higher to the viewing platform for a magnificent view of Oberstdorf. A highlight was the subsequent ride on the Söllereck cable car to the Söllereck mountain station, which is located at 1400 m above sea level.

In the meantime, our travellers have returned to Bitburg safe and sound and with many beautiful photos in their luggage.
