Tourism and Leisure Agent (m/f)
Areas of application
The tourism branch is in expansion. A
lot of different firms practise their activity
in this sector, more particularly
regional and local places like tourist
offices and associations, cure companies,
spas and wellness companies,
amusement and adventure parks,
holiday camps, camping sites, tour
operators etc.
The new vocation Tourism and Leisure
Agent (m/f) meets those qualification
needs which could not yet been met
in the training of travel agents.
In close collaboration with Bitburg's
tourist office and several tourism firms
in the Eifel region, we train these specialists
in the European Vocational
Training Centre Bitburg.
Vocational skills
Subsequent to the vocational qualification
in the companies mentioned
above, these specialists assume the
following tasks by using their acquired
knowledge and skills:
- Development, transmission and sale
of tourist and leisure-time products
or services
- Coordination of regional and local
touristic offers according to the
customers' wishes
- Information about touristic services
and attractions, also in a foreign
language
- Advise and care of customers and
offer of services
- Realisation of actions and events
- Taking part in the development
and implementation of marketing
measures
- Cooperation with local and regional
partners
- Guarantee and observation of the
service quality and ecological
standards
- Use of information and communication
systems
- Participation in the assurance of the
functioning of technical installations
and equipments
Training structure
- Length of training:
3 years in the dual system
- Intermediate examination: at the
end of the second training year
- Final examination: including a
practical and theoretical examination
(approved by the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry)
