Gardeners specialized in horticulture
and landscape gardening build, plant
and tend green areas, such as gardens
around residential buildings,
areas surrounding public buildings,
playgrounds and sports grounds,
green areas along streets and squares
as well as on storefronts and roofs.
In addition to working with modern
machines, gardeners still have to perform
a great deal of work by hand.
Soil, stone, water, wood and plants are
the materials used here.
In the case of new grounds or modifications,
they measure the grounds,
design the terrain by moving earth,
make steps, paths and specific areas
as well as build supporting walls,
exposed and noise protection walls,
ponds and playgrounds. Tending
green areas, lawns, borders, shrubs
and undergrowth is a source of work
the whole year round.
Gardeners specialized in horticulture
and landscape gardening are characterized
by a love of nature and manual
skills. They enjoy building, designing
and tending green areas and carry
out independently and with technical
understanding what the customer
wants while taking into consideration
efficient use of energy and materials
as well as environmental protection
and conservation.
To achieve the training goals, Euro-
BBW conducts training with a projectoriented
focus. For example, the training
groups take on orders, plan construction
sites, calculate the material
needs and perform the work. In addition,
the trainees take part in various
periods of work experience at private
enterprises in the field of horticulture
and landscape gardening as well as
at public maintenance departments in
the course of the three-year training.
