FachinformatikerInnen IT Specialists translate specialized requirements into complex hardware and software systems. They analyze, plan and implement new or modified IT and telecommunications systems. They are at the disposal of customers and users for technical advice, support and training. Typical areas of application in the field of applications development include, for example, commercial or technical systems, expert systems, mathematical, scientific and multimedia systems. In the field of system integration IT Specialists apply their know-how at computing centres, in networks, client-server systems or fixed-line and radio networks.

Vocational Skills

FachinformatikerInnen Basic know-how of hardware and software are requirements for working on computers. This occupation requires good communicative competence as well as the ability to work in a team and grasp, structure and perform complex tasks. Openness to new technologies and a willingness to take part in constant further training round off the profile. English language skills in the specific field will be additionally taught in the course of the training. At Euro-BBW a modern Intranet composed of approximately 250 computers is available for training in the fields of applications development and system integration. In addition to in-house IT projects, such as the inhouse PC workshop, project work relevant to the examinations is carried out, in particular through work experience at external commercial enterprises.

Training Structure

Length of training: 3 years in dual system
Intermediate examination: in the middle of the second training year, theoretical examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce
Final examination: theoretical and practical examination by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce
