Internships during the vocational training in the Euro-BBW

Participating in an external internship of several weeks is an inherent part of all trainings in the European Vocational Training Centre and hence compulsory for all trainees. There are two fixed internship periods during a legal year.

If required or to prepare integration into the labour market these periods may also be organised flexibly. The internship takes place in private enterprises, authorities as well as in social institutions.

As the European Vocational Training Centre Bitburg has set up and maintained good contacts, many providers of internships can rightly be characterized as permanent cooperating partners of our centre.

Primarily, the internships should contribute

to deepen already acquired knowledge and skills in one’s training,
to learn additionally abilities tested in practice,
to acquire essential key qualifications which are necessary in the average working day,
to maintain and to increase motivation for the training,
to develop one’s personality through the acquisition of new personal competences,
to prepare and ease integration into the labour market.

One of Euro-BBW’s particularities is the realisation of internships in other European countries. Every trainee has the possibility to pass at least one internship abroad during the period of training.

Besides the mentioned qualification which are important for the labour market. The internship abroad should impart additionally intercultural competences and eventually enlarge the possibilities of integration beyond the German labour market.

At the same time the stay abroad offers the opportunity to exercise and deepen one’s foreign language skills in everyday life. Altogether, training in the European Vocational Training Centre Bitburg also means to open oneself for Europe and thus to detect and benefit from one’s chances for the future.
