Days of integration in the European Vocational Training Centre

The start of a new year of training entails new group situations for all participants: New trainees have to be integrated into existing classes, training groups and flat-sharing communities.

This integration process can be initiated by different activities. That is why the Euro-BBW organises "days of integration". These are days during which all participants of Euro-BBW measures have the possibility by experiential education and creative offers to get themselves involved, to support each other, to integrate others and to experience themselves when they collaborate with others.

At the beginning of a training year the European Vocational Training Centre wants to create the basis for group dynamics which can be developed over the years. Besides integration the topic "prevention of violence and addiction" also plays a great role and is already considered in advance during the planning of the activities.

Offers during the days of integration:

1. One day at the rope course:

We always aim at solving tasks which require a strategy elaborated by the group. We start with simple exercises on the floor. Later on we go up. When climbing the participants learn to trust in their own abilities, but also to rely on others - by safeguarding each other.

2. Therapeutic riding

Therapeutic outdoor riding is a measure for an individual and integral promotion through the living medium horse. There is no other measure which requires such an adaptation like riding. The rider does not only set the tone, but also the horse demands thoughtfulness and tolerance.

3. One day at the stone pit

Under skilful instruction of a sculptor the participants can spend a day at a stone pit and gather first experiences for handling this natural material. On location the stone first has to be "wrested" from nature, so that, later on, the group can create creative results out of the given forms.

4. One day on the canoe

Kanufahren Entering the canoe already requires a certain degree of motor co-ordination and a good sense of balance. Depending on their assessment, the trainees can decide on a canoe for one person or a kayak for three persons. According to the principle: "We're all in the same boat" the fears of the other participants in the boat have to be taken seriously.

5. Drumming for one day

Besides beating methods, basic rhythm and solo beats this workshop particularly attaches importance to playing in a group. The participants are asked to listen to each other and to react. By drumming the participants can experience the integral, connective power and bracing expressiveness of this kind of music.

Lagerfeuer Furthermore we offer our participants bicycle tours, hikes in the region, city quiz tours in Bitburg and Trier, inline skates tours and common cooking/baking.

But the integration offers do not end with the regular working time. A comprehensive programme for the evening with barbecue, common sports activities, e.g. basket ball, badminton or soccer as well as a live concert in the Euro-BBW's Leisure House rounds off the offer during the days of integration.
